The following is a list of upcoming events at Green Hills Community that is open to the public.
Fall prevention class offered at Green Hills Community
Green Hills Community offers fall prevention classes to help reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels for older adults. "LIFE in Balance"(Learning Interventions with Functional Exercise) is a six-week structured group intervention that emphasizes practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and increase activity levels.
Participants learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
LIFE in Balance is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays from Nov. 13 to Dec. 18 in the Chapel located in the Green Hills Community Center, 6557 US 68 South, West Liberty. The presenter is Nita Wilkinson, a certified balance trainer.

The Nurse is IN to offer free health screenings
Are you concerned about your blood pressure? High blood pressure has no symptoms but it can cause serious problems such as stroke, heart failure, heart attack, or kidney failure. We check your blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen level, and answer questions about your medication.
Come see us at any of the following throughout the month:
Every Wednesday: 10 a.m. to noon, Care At Home health clinic in the Green Hills Community Center;
First Wednesday of every month: 11 a.m. to noon, Logan County Friendly Senior Center, 934 S. Main St., Bellefontaine; or
Second Tuesday of every month: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Urbana Champaign County Senior Center, 701 S. Walnut St., Urbana.
